WILLIAMS MCCALL GALLERY OPENS IN SOUTH BEACH

MIAMI BEACH, FL (January 26, 2012) – The Williams McCall Gallery, the first fine art gallery located South
of Fifth, has its grand opening on Saturday, February 11th at 12 pm.

The opening exhibit will highlight the works of ten contemporary artists including Madeliene Abling whose bold colored canvases depict playful images of sailboats and musical instruments; National Geographic photographer David Evans who finds hidden beauty in otherworldly landscapes; portrait and landscape painter Enrique Flores-Galbis who has been on the faculty of the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, the Parsons School of Design and the Morris and Montclair Museums; and Ernie Bynum whose pictures are inspired by images of nature found in  the US, the Caribbean and West Africa.

The exhibit also includes works by John Dowd who paints the structural elements of landscapes devoid of people; Marty Ittner who creates collages using layers of wax and paper with fragments of ephemera; sports artist and illustrator Larry Johnson; oil painter Joan Cobb Marsh who is known for her interiors and capturing fleeting images of beauty; printmaker Taka Maruno whose abstract etchings reflect his early years in suburban Tokyo; and Mike Wright who constructs non-objective assemblages from found objects.

Madeliene Abling, Joan Cobb Marsh, John Dowd, Ernie Bynum, David Evans, Taka Maruno, and Mike Wright will be available to discuss their work.  The exhibition is curated by Christine McCarthy, Executive Director of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum of Provincetown.

“I know amazing artists and, over the years, many of them have asked me to help them promote their work.
It has always been my dream to open an art gallery, and when we found this great space, I knew the time was right,” says Gail Williams, owner of the gallery. “Our goal is to place our artists’ work in a wide range of public and private collections.”
